McLaren 570S Spider gains Track Pack option
Harder, lighter drop-top joins the lineup.
Khodrocar - McLaren has toned and tightened the 570S Spider for track work, adding a lightweight Track Pack option to the line-up.
The new Track Pack follows in the coupe’s footprints, with a smattering of carbon-fibre and titanium components helping shave 33kg from the already-lithe 570S Spider.
In keeping with its track-focused ethos, the option package adds carbon-fibre seats, a carbon steering wheel, carbon-fibre dashboard trim and six, you guessed it, carbon-themed trim finishes.
There are lightweight, forged 10-spoke wheels and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres in place of the standard units, along with a titanium sports exhaust for more noise and less weight. A higher rear spoiler, borrowed from the Track Pack on the coupe, generates extra downforce – although McLaren doesn’t say exactly how much – compared to the standard unit.
McLaren Track Telemetry is also included, making it easier to time and train yourself on track days.
As for power? It still comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 making 419kW of power and 600Nm of torque, good for a 3.2-second sprint from 0-100km/h.
According to McLaren, more than 10 per cent of coupes are fitted with the Track Pack. Although it’s priced from a hefty £17,160 ($30,000) in the UK, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar split on the drop-top.
